Migrant and traveller encounters refers to the individual stories or narratives on the experiences and dealings with migration infrastructures. This topic takes an emic approach and puts the perspective of the users, customers or passengers of migration infrastructures at the centre of the exploration. The literature typically depicts individual migration trajectories such as success stories or inspiring encounters but also problems in accessing infrastructures and experiences of danger, trauma and discrimination.
